Yes, for the Linc and Citizen's Bank Park. They are also supposed to be (in the future) building some restaurants and such down there to make it a whole complex type thing....
Citizen's Bank Park is the new baseball stadium or they have yet to built the new ballpark? Sorry for the 20 questions. I'm not familiar with the sports complex part of Philly.

Yup, the new Phillies stadium opens up in a few months. :)

Read all about it

Very nice! I'm taking a look at all of the C.G. pictures and sky photos as we speak. Ok so the complex layout is Ballpark, down from that is the Vet, next to that is the arena, and then the Linc. Is this description correct? link That's the picture I'm talking about. How do you Phillies fans feel about playing in a ball park now instead of a football stadium?

PhillyGirl

Can't wait.

Now we have the Spectrum, Wachovia Center, The Linc and Citizens Bank Park over there. And the Vet, which is going down.

It should be nice to play baseball on grass instead of turf and have a stadium layout that is more baseball friendly. I hope they build some sort of complex on the site of the Vet instead of just laying down a parking lot.

The plan (or what they've talked about publicly) is to have parking, but to also build some kind of fan-friendly area. Something along the lines of what you see in Baltimore along Eutaw Street.

Eutaw Street with crack-ho's.  Interesting visual, bro.   :yay :yay

Huh, and all this time I thought it was Utah Street.

There Used To Be A Ballpark

"Oh, there used to be a ball park
where the field was warm and green,
and the people played a crazy game
with a joy I've never seen.

How the people watched with wonder,
how they laughed and how they cheered
Yes, there used to be a ball park....
     right here....

And the people ate rock candy
on a great big 4th of July
     and the fireworks exploded
     all across the summer sky.

And the air was filled with wonder
from the hot dogs and the beer
Yes, there used to be a ball park...
     right here....

Now the children try to find it,
and they can't believe their eyes
For the old team isn't playing,
and the new team hardly tries

And the sky has gotten cloudy
when it used to be so clear
     and the summer....went so quickly...
     this year....

Yes, there used to be a ball park...
     right here....

Yes, but I'll always remember the Vet as Gray and Cold. Fun times indeed, but it should read ....

I tried to work in the watered down hot chocolate that scalds your mouth no matter how long you wait to sip it, and the sink thing, and the spontaneous E-A-G-L-E-S cheers in a packed bathroom ... ahhh, if you wanna hear the real game commentary, thats where you get it.  ;)

And all the mix is in a big clump at the bottom, and if you try and shake it loose you wind up spilling the hot water all over yourself. :)

The man. The myth. The legend.

Well done, Reidme, you've done a fine job of making that song Vet-specific!  :D :yay

Of course, Sinatra won't be able to record your version....  ;)

Speaking strictly for myself I find it most strange and somewhat sad that ballparks built in my lifetime (The Vet, Three Rivers Stadium, Riverfront Stadium, The Kingdome, et al) were not only deemed obsolete but razed to the ground.

Are any of these new stadia (or is it stadii???) ever going to have the legendary charm of a Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field, or Fenway Park?

My God, I simply can't believe tha Shea Stadium is on of the oldest ballparks around!
