The Phillies just made it back to the playoffs for the first time since 1993 (Joe Carter/Mitch Williams ring a bell?), and promptly got swept by the ROCKIES.

Don't even try.  Go impale yourself on one of the Lombardi's.

that '93 squad is still one of my all-time favorite non-giants teams

and id take a sweep in the playoffs anyday over a sweep in the WS  :-[

now that the phillies have been brought into the equation i'll go sit in the corner and cry.

Truck, 1983, farging 1983.  Now that's misery.

yes it was Baltimore (farging Rick Dempsey) but I was referring to the 1983 Sixers - the last Philadelphia team in a major sport to win a championship.

Well, I'm actually still celebrating the Kixx world championship.  That really helped ease some of the pain.

I thought I was going to run out of fingers for all the Wings MILL championship rings in the 90's.

I'd swap an NFC Championship for Rocky Balboa
