Simoneau Not Going To Make The Team?

eh... Spew paints a different picture:

QuoteConsider Mark Simoneau as the team's fourth linebacker. He could make a tremendous impact as the nickel 'backer and special teams player. The guy has looked great in coverage.

Spew's opinion aside, I shudder at that thought of Sims covering TEs again this season.

I'll sob myself to sleep at the thought of him playing special teams.

The man. The myth. The legend.

QuoteJIM SPEAKS: Defensive coordinator Jim Johnson said he's satisfied with rookie first-round pick Mike Patterson's showing and expects him to be a major part of the defensive tackle rotation.

Johnson also said he expects Mark Simoneau to rotate with starting weak-side linebacker Keith Adams and perhaps play almost as many snaps as Adams, and he said Ndukwe Kalu will definitely start at right defensive end.

Makes sense, RE: Kalu...he'll start in the rotation until McDougle is healthy enough to return and get back into shape. They must figure Hugh will continue to rotate in, as to not wear him out early in the season.

Not happy to hear that JJ plans to give Sims as many snaps as Adams, though.  Sims just gets pushed around by the better TEs.  :-\

Well, I would think that would be a game by game scenario, you know? Depending on who we're playing. If he has a problem with Crumpler, then don't expect to see too much of him in the first game of the year.  :-D

Good point! I trust in JJ...but, he does sometimes have blind spots (Sims and Blaine Bishop come to mind).

Sims against Crumpler, Witten and even Shockey =    :poison

Larry

Simoneau is a weakside LB; he's supposed to be primarily covering RBs, not TEs.
More Mahe please.

Saw this in Peter King's MMQBTE; a read asks him which players he could see coaching...

QuoteWell, a few. But the problem is most of them won't want to put in the time, understandably, to climb the ladder to be head coaches. It's not like walking off the field in baseball and being able to be a bench coach for a year or two, or a third base coach, and then sliding right into the manager's office. If you ask me which players would make good coaches if they put in the time, I would say these five: Derrick Brooks (strong work ethic, great principles), Matt Hasselbeck (he gets all aspects of the game), Mark Simoneau (really bright, hard worker, good grip of the game), Zack Thomas (ditto), Adalius Thomas (one of the smartest and hardest workers in football) and Trent Dilfer (ditto). Oh, and Rod Smith. Really bright guy, and really smart about offensive football.

FIRE ANDY, HIRE SIMONEAU!!

He then goes on to list seven players. What a dipshtein.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Ha!  As for Simoneau.......there's an old saying, "Those that can't do....coach."  Of the players listed up there, Simoneau would be about the only one who I wouldn't be surprised to see as a (successful) coach one day.

Don Ho

scuse me, didn't see Reno on that list.

Feva

seems as good a place as any for a random Simoneau pic.
