He may not be the best, but he's damn shore one of them. He was one of the most atheletic players of his time. I'm not saying he'd be a TO or Charles Johnson, but to say he'd be a good college player and wouldn't make it in the NFL.......I just don't agree. He would have the same conditioning as players do now.

It's almost like saying Johnny Unitas wouldn't be anything but a good college qb.

Anywayz, although what Mornhinweg says is interesting, I just hope he keeps calling the plays balanced out like he did against the Skins.

if quick would have had more than 6 healthy seasons, absolutey. but longevity is part of it, and carmichael had 13 seasons, and played on some pathetic teams in the mid 70's.

for my money, it's carmichael...by a hair over quick.

fair point but i think 6 years in the nfl is a long time and is more than enough to qualify him as the best wr theyve ever had

I'd love to have either one right now.

Rome

Harold Jackson was also a great receiver in the early 1970's.

Actually, Jackson & Carmichael might have been the best duo if they had a decent quarterback throwing to them.

Exactly. ::)

I think what Rome might be trying to say, or atleast how I'm taking it...If Tommy Mac was born and raised at the same time as Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, etc...he'd be a little bit bigger, as the average size of a person has certainly gone up from the time he was born to the time Steve Smith was born. So therefore, if McDonald was young enough to play today, he'd be bigger, and have the same oppertunities to have the top notch training that all the other athletes recieve today. It's rediculous to think that just because he's....oh, I don't know, white...he couldn't be just as athletic as everyone else if he was born 30 years later or whatever the number may be.

But back then, he was the equivilant to the Chad Johnsons and Steve Smiths and TOs and Marvin Harrisons that we have today. He was one of, if not the best WR playing professional football. Yes, I know it pains our good friend IGY that one of the best WR's back then was white....but it is the unfortunate truth. :(

So anyway....oh yeah, Morningwood, running, joke, sucks, sarcasm, pass 50 times, what's Darwin Walker's status, okay. Yeah.

I'd say something about the pot, the kettle, and black, but I wouldn't want to be the one playing a race card again.
