Not really.

What he said is right about guys needing time. Them dicking around and putting him at ILB has an effect too. Let him stay outside and just rush for now

With that logic. Jon Harris would have been a monster given enough time?

I'm not all that upset at the Smith pick because Jordan Matthews has contributed like a #1 pick as a #2.

But to suggest it wasn't stupid or a reach is, well, :CF at its contrarian best.

Nah some people just suck. He sucked when he was on the field and showed no improvement.

Smith needs to be given time to show it one way or the other...and to actually play the position he was drafted to play. OLB

In what universe did Brandon McDougle contribute/play well/look good at any time before this season?

Dude... he hasn't shown the slightest ability to play there.  If he had he'd be playing right now.   It was a stupid farging pick, period.

holy shtein for the millionth time: hes not an edge rusher

and 9-3 teams dont put players who suck on the field just because they wanna see what they got....that would not just be stupid on the field but it would be incredibly bad in the locker room.....and honestly chip seems like the kind of guy who under no circumstances would ever not run out the best players no matter what their record was

Ok then what is he? Certainly not an ILB.

He's an edge rusher. And I'm not saying throw him out there right now. Let his ass rot on the inactive list for all I care and then he will have an off season to do what he needs to do. And when he comes to camp and OTAs then you let him rush the passer and an...wait for it...

Edge
Rusher

hes an OLB altho I think he could certainly play inside....his skill set is versatility.....he wouldn't get within a time zone of an nfl qb off the edge right now....perhaps down the road he becomes a scheme pass rusher who can get you 5-6-7 sacks a year....but hes not von miller

most of all what he is right now tho is horrendous....to not be able to even get on the field behind this linebacking corps is pretty telling

Well yeah I agree with that - not getting on the field with this LB corps doesn't exactly bode well for your game.

And they've lost guys to injury and he still cannot break the rotation.

LBIggle

what'd they say? if matthews would have got injured then an injured acho would have been in the game instead of this guy.  also doesn't play in garbage time?  yeah, bust.

their not going to have him just rush the passer.  he's too big of a liability to even be on the field and like was said before he has no shot at getting to the qb anyway.  his place on the depth chart or lack there of clearly shows he has no game. why take snaps away from the other guys?

and i agree to an extent that since jordan matthews is playing at a 1st round level it's not as bad of a pick.. but even a 2nd rounder should be contributing somewhat this year especially with the injuries and trash they have had at ILB this year.

shorebird

I don't get the logic behind, well Matthews is playing great so the Smith pick doesn't look that bad. A bust is a bust and a bad pick is a bad pick.

ice grillin you

yeah that logic makes no sense....you also can argue that there were 25 other wrs in the draft that could do what jordan matthews is doing in this offense...as long as chip is the coach WR is going to be the easiest position to hit on

QB Eagles

Rare sighting. He forced the fumble from that Seahawks punter after he picked the ball back up.

rjs246

I think he also had a QB pressure and forced Wilson out of bounds early in the game. First round pick.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
