It's sad that Hinkie's moves have prevented the decade-long Sixers dynasty they were building around that Lou Williams/Evan Turner core.

2. picked up an extra 1st rounder, an injured NN and mcw for jeru (smart)

5. threw away an entire season...lost 26 games in a row....disgraced the sport.....all for 2 GUYS WHO CANNOT PLAY

i dont know about you but i find that pretty insulting and condescending. and i have spent and invested exactly $0 into this team. the lies coming from the organization continue....the sheep continue to make excuses and follow....i can smell this from a mile away. it aint working.

this is like in religion where they keep coming up with excuses: "everything happens for a reason"    "we can't understand god's plan"    "they're in a better place now"   and on and on and on. the sixers keep lying to you. they blow up mcw out of one side of their mouth, then try to trade him out of the other. they go crazy over kj, then only sign him to a 1 year deal. so many holes and what ifs everywhere. its fraudcity.

I'm not even a huge basketball fan, but how did they "disgrace the sport?"

Operating within the confines of the current NBA system, the Sixers stripped completely down from their rather mediocre roster. 

Knowing that they wouldn't compete for anything this year anyway, they went for talent that could payoff bigger down the road rather than settle for talent that would be better today but have a lower ceiling.

Yeah, they're playing for the possibility of snagging the top pick this year.  They would be anyway.  Embiid and Saric (more than likely) will be on the team next year\, along with whatever lottery pick the Sixers acquire in the next draft.  (PS - I wouldn't plan on the top pick.  I have the feeling the NBA will make sure they don't get that.)

Will the plan work?  I have no idea - any plan involving the Sixers is a long shot.  It's more likely that they will rocket back to mediocrity two years from now.  But you'd rather them have the 10th pick rather than a guaranteed top-3.  They weren't making the playoffs this year.  Hell, they weren't winning 30 games this year. 

The bad part of this is that, with the Flyers (unintentionally) tanking this season as well, and with Ruben F. Amaro still in charge of the Phillies, there's going to be a long, dark stretch between Eagles seasons.

As if the NBA needed the Sixers to "disgrace the sport."  The Sixers are just doing more honestly what other teams have done under this system.

this year they have maybe 3 nba players on their roster and are 0-16 going on 0-20. people, whether here are on the road, pay good money to watch an nba game and do not see a quality product when the sixers are on the court. its insulting.

Worst possible analogy.  People still believe in religion despite millions of years worth of events that completely contradict it.  That would be like tater skins fan thinking this is finally their year even though the franchise doesn't change its approach.

The whole "gods plan" is comfort blanket for people to wrap themselves in to feel better after some unforseen tragedy.  The current state of the Sixers was not unforseen. We've been ready for this since last year.

The fact that you're saying it can't work and won't work simply shows that you don't want it to work. There's a plan in place. Whether or not it is properly executed remains to be seen. If this team is legit in 2 years, great. If not, then fire Hinkie and move on.

I don't like hockey, which is why I don't post in the flyers thread. You don't like the NBA so, you know.....
