$99M transfer fee for DiMaria.

How bout them apples, Chuggie?

hbionic

Yup, just saw that. I think he's a great player and brings that much more prestige to the team and league (not that it needed any). ManU scored big time.

My problem is that, like you stated, Van Gaal is still getting his player combination right, it seems like it's possible that chemistry might not come until its too late. It's hard to imagine though, with so many great players. I guess there's still a little bit of a hangover from last season. Not that I mind it though, the worse off ManU is, the better for the rest of the league. And Chelsea.  :=)

i dont what mk dons is, but twitter says man u is losing 3-0 to them

is this like the yankees losing to the camden riversharks
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I didn't watch obviously but yes it's a hilarious result.

Means nothing though.

Walked into my package store yesterday, saw Liverpool game, saw score...blugh.

The Liverpool clerk was hang dog as shtein, lost $20 to the owner's son, who is an MC supporter, and who was there, talking shtein.

Not humanly possible.

Manchester United fans aren't the most patient group but even they will give Van Gaal more than 2 farging league games to get started.  I mean, they haven't even fielded a whole team yet because of injuries and they still have a ton of loose skin to slough off on the squad.

And today's loss really means nothing.   United doesn't play for League Cups.  They play for Champions League hardware.  And they will again.

at the local market the cashier, after cordial greetings, was like "things would be better if my soccer team could win a game"

i asked who his soccer team is

he says manchester united

i proceed to make fun of him for being a loser man u fan, which is basically like rooting for the yankees or lakers and not being from new york or la.

also he was black, even though papa havas told me only white people liked soccer

Week 3:

Just caught up with the matches. First, transfer news:

Notables:

Manchester United- Daley Blind, and Rodemel Falcao....so...

Rooney
Van Persie
Blind
Di Maria
Falcao

Wow. farg the bullshtein, they need to start winning NOW!

Chicharito goes on loan to Real Madrid. Mexico loves their mexicans at Real.

Arsenal- Signed Danny Welbeck

League News:

Liverpool stepped up and handled the Spurs. Balotelli takes defenders off Sterling and Sturridge. If they can find a way to play well together, I think they'll make up for what they lack on defense. Also, the defense showed up today. They played hard from start to finish and made life impossible for the Spurs. Nice win for Liverpool. They'll surely build off of this.

Swansea, nice start to the season. Great scoring play with Sirgudsson to Dyer.

Manchester United ties recently promoted Burnley. (But there's no panic yet, right Romey?)

Upset of the week:

Stoke 1-0 at the Etihad over Manchester City

Exciting games of the week:

Newcastle v. Crystal Palace (3-3 tie)...with Crystal Palace tying in the 90th minute.

Everton v. Chelsea...9 total goals scored (5 in an 11-minute span)...it was a 6-3 win for Chelsea but closer than the score shows.

Scoring play of the week:

I like Liverpool- Henderson steals, passes to Sturridge, he out maneuvers two defenders, passes to Henderson, who passes to Sterling for scoring shot.

Week 4 resumes weekend of the 13th with the headliners being:

Arsenal v. Man City (Saturday)
Chelsea v. Swansea (Saturday)...should be a good test for both teams.

Rome

$200M later and they still haven't solved the back line issues.

I like what they've done, obviously, but Van Gaal still bugs me.  He seems to be the type to favor his system over common sense.
