had the chance to trade him last year, but roob sensed something brewing in 2014

only 11.5 out!!
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Great day for the Phils. Can we cap this off with a Papelbon blown save, please?

October 2, 2011 a date which will live in infamy.  Thanks Cliff.

Just pulled up this little tidbit about that game:

QuoteLee gave up 12 hits, the first pitcher to do that in the postseason since Detroit's Nate Robertson in 2006 and the first NL pitcher since Larry French of the Cubs in 1935.

QuoteThe whole situation serves as a microcosm of why the Phillies currently find themselves in such dire straits. At no point over the last five years has the current regime offered any proof that they have a good feel for projecting players or markets, or for limiting their exposure to risk. They drastically overpaid for Papelbon. They fooled themselves into thinking they could compete this season, prompting them to hold onto Cliff Lee instead of moving aggressively to deal him in the offseason (or at last year's trade deadline). They guaranteed A.J. Burnett more money than the Braves ended up guaranteeing Ervin Santana.

And thats just the caboose of this train wreck.  Some much more carnage in the other cars.  Go Conductor Smuggy, go!

Nice win last night, though.  Sizemore has been a pleasant surprise so far.  I'm tryin' here...

MDS

sizemore is 31 or 32 and is the most talented young position player they have

fact

Not a bad guess.  Just checked - he's 31... until tomorrow.

I know it doesn't really matter but I wish CSN would invest in the pitch tracker.  Papsmear threw some good shtein here against the boy wonder, two of which looked like pretty damn good throws.
