Neymar took a beating.  Columbia was taking shots at him any chance they got.

Agree with Bionic.  English Premier League is good stuff.  Excellent coverage on several cable networks.  Great recap show I believe on Tuesdays? covering the weeks games.

Germany, Brazil, Argentina & The Netherlands.

I still like Germany but holy shtein the Netherlands looked good yesterday.  Probably will be Brazil, though.

Of these, I can't really like any.  The Europeans...yeah, farg the white people.  Go New World.  After that...

As a Messi fan, I'd love to see him made the undisputed King of soccer by carrying his team to a World Cup victory.  I'd relish the momentary silence from the ignorant haters.   But I can't stand Argentina. 

So I guess what I hope is a Brazil victory despite heroic, beautiful soccer from Messi.

I've never really understood the Messi hate.  He's a good guy, plays the game the right way, etc.    Not an Argentina fan at all, though.  Of all the teams left that's the team I want to lose badly.

Also - gotta hand it to Costa Rica.  I thought they were gonna get smoked by the Dutch yesterday but they hung in there.  Too bad there's no CONCACAF participants left.

usa mexico and costa rica had very good showings...but honduras was awful and the rest of concacaf stinks. jamaica and panama, the other teams to make the final round, arent worth anything.

making it out of a group that included portugal, germany and ghana and hanging with belgium for 120 minutes is a good showing

the usa is not a soccer powerhouse (yet!). they did the best they could reasonably be expected to do.

they were awful.....if they played 375 minutes they were outplayed in over 300 of them
