by what measure?

before tonight he had the 69th best whip out of 110 qualified starters. that of course ignores the 40ish other unqualified starters, who are mostly unqualified because they arent good enough to warrant innings to qualify.

so lets say there are 15 starters that are injured but better than kendrick. so hes 69th out of 135ish. average. hes average. maybe a little below. hes kyle kendrick!!

let me try to break this down as slowly as i can

1. kendrick doesnt suck
2. david buchanan sucks
3. kendrick is average to mediocre
4. most bottom of the rotation starters (kendrick) are average to mediocre
5. every team has 1-3 kendrick's to fill out their rotation.

phillies fans arent the smartest folks around. like most fans they get riled up about things that arent that big a deal like 4th starters, the closer and the oafish black guy who strikes out a lot.
