i blame that partially on ryne

basically he was playing the okie doke and hoping adams/tony b/paps would get 9 outs without giving up a run, which wasnt a given. diekman threw 5 pitches and could have gone another inning, at least until gonzalez. that way you have your 3 best relief pitchers available into the 8th, so you can conceivably get through into the 10th.

basically now the phillies need a run in the next 2 innings or they will lose

bottom of the order up for the doyers and you arent scoring a run most likely....who does ryne use? crappy relief pitcher no. 1 (manship? camp?) or his 2nd best pitcher (tony b).

the answer should be  camp. you have to plan for a 9th and a 10th and an 11th.

forgot about using adams again which was a fairly smart play. hooray ryne! 1 point for you.

gywnn fails to bunt twice, then flies out. ramirez remains in dp depth and revere hits a gb just out of his reach to his left. if hes at normal depth with a runner at 2nd and 1 out, he fields it. but he doesnt, so its a hit. then ruiz singles to presumably win the game.

if he continues to get on base at that clip he should be hitting 2nd. move jimmy/revere down. the bottom of the order is an abomination anyway. no harm in making it worse.
