Munson

Yeah I'd rather have Howard lay off the outside sliders and shtein, then swing at them and look like a moron.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

He didn't hack at the junk balls which was good. I would've preferred him to rope a gapper but if he's walking and having good ABs that leads to him being locked in

wait youd rather him walk than strikeout?....no way

this is what its come to....you are calling an at bat where the phillies 25 million dollar a year clean up hitter walked instead of struck out
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

PhillyPhreak54

Don't dig too deep on this. I thought he had a good AB

Burnett blows. farging guy lost the plate and here comes Diekman again

im not gonna complain but I wouldn't call walking with the bases loaded a great at bat for choke....hes paid 25 mil a year to put one in the gao there or over the wall (especially against a RH)

typical meathead comment

not making an out = good. especially for choke. if mike trout was up with cody asche on deck then fine, yes, he cant walk in that spot. but otherwise, ill repeat. not making an out = good.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Suck it, Negadelphian!

Or is it Neganorthmexican?

MDS

at least you admit walks are good

thats my victory for the day. inch by inch im going to get you people off of stats that were conceived in 1885

I've always been ok with walks. Get on base.

The only way to get rid of Amaro is for that figure to remain stable or get worse.  Keep it up, iceholes.

he didn't walk to lead off an inning he walked with the bases loaded....again not a bad thing but not what you are paying someone 25 million dollars a year to do....if you are cool with that then i dont even know what to say.....except VORP!

he's being paid 25 million a year for what he did from 2006-2009.  he's worth about 25 bucks a year right now.

I didn't see the AB, so I don't know if he saw any hittable pitches or not. If he saw one or twoand either took them, or swung and missed/fouled them off, then I'm with you. Gotta capitalize on as many opportunities as you can. But if he got a bunch of crap thrown his way and showed some solid plate discipline, then I'm 100% good with taking a walk.

It really just comes down to what the pitcher offers him.  Can't get mad at anyone for not swinging out of the k zone, no matter how much he's paid.
