Are there more uncomfortable press conferences in sports than when a college hires a new head coach?

The university president pretending like they know WTF they're talking about....the contrived school salute/fight song for the boosters benefits...the boosters being at the PC sucking the new coach off...

Bobby Petrino's Arkansas was all time awful....watching the UT prez give the hook 'em before introducing Strong was awkward

He was projected to be a mid round guy maybe as high as the second round. A very good player.

Let's see if this knocks him down. I hope it doesn't but if he's picked in the sixth or seventh then you know something's up

Mr. Sam came out to two of his friends on the team, Mr. Washington and Marvin Foster, about a year ago. It was not a huge surprise. Mr. Washington was with Mr. Sam when Mr. Sam said he needed to go pick up a friend. He told Mr. Washington that the friend was gay and asked Mr. Washington if that would bother him. Mr. Washington said no, and Mr. Sam came out to him.

Sam's announcement did not come as a surprise to most NFL teams. Sam's sexual orientation was considered an open secret in his college town of Columbia, Mo., and the assistant personnel man said he believed "90 percent of teams" already were aware that Sam was gay and had dropped him on their draft boards. He estimated that of the 32 NFL franchises, only two or three didn't know prior to Sunday night's news. He projected that it will impact Sam's draft status "quite a bit."

The comments by the NFL coward are especially ridiculous.   He's basically saying the gays have no place in the game.  Really?  Just like the coloreds had no place in the game until the 1950's, right?

Infuriating.  It's farging 2014, for Christ's sake.   GET OVER IT.    If they can play in the NFL then who cares who they go night-night with after the game's over?
