I loved Downie when he played for the Flyers mostly because I got to use the phrase Downie Syndrome a lot.   

Even for Homer this is a mind-bogglingly stupid deal, though.

not really, they get talbot's contract off of their books and downie has slightly higher upside on the offensive end, plus he's a pending FA.  if they re-sign him then it's dumb

he was an atrocious number one pick and i dont like him at all.....im just saying hes a much better player than talbot....talbot serves a real purpose on a contending team but hes a waste of a body on a team like the flyers

talbot is basically worthless outside of the occasional penalty kill....downie is somewhat less worthless

im going to slit my throat when the flyers get the #1 overall pick and the sixers pick like fourth
