QuoteFor all the questions about whether the Rams would call Tim Tebow after Sam Bradford suffered his season ending injury, they didn't. But they did call Brett Favre, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

After the team lost Bradford to a season-ending knee injury, St. Louis called Brett Favre on Sunday night, asking if the 44-year-old retired quarterback who is now a grandfather, would be willing to leave his farm to plow through the back half of the Rams' schedule, league sources said.

Favre hasn't played since December of 2010, but that didn't stop the Rams from reaching out to Favre's agent, Bus Cook.

One source familiar with the Rams' conversations said that, if Favre took them up on their interest, "it could break Twitter."

Yet the man who famously wavered over whether to play too many times to count didn't waver this time. Through Cook, Favre told the Rams that he was retired -- actually, really, officially.

QB Eagles

I'm not so sure about that. Imagine trying to sell DeSean Jackson a contract structured as a backloaded annuity that won't escalate into 7 figures until he's in his 50s.

Diomedes

It might be easier to convert him to Mormonism first, but after that no problem.  Money grubbing fargers, they are.

I have a difficult time faulting Steve Young here.  He made one of the most brilliant business decisions of all time when he signed that ludicrous contract.   Bobby Bonilla (he's a baseball player, Dio) made a similar deal and so did Bobby Clarke.  Intelligent athletes should be commended for their business acumen, especially considering so many of them are colossally stupid.

I'm not down on the guy for getting paid.

It's the cultism I can't stand.

I'm with you there.  Same goes for all organized brainwashings.

But hey...you mentioned this base-ball thing, what's that all about?

steroids, alcoholism & gluttony.

Do the referees decide the game?

I caught something in the news about that this morning.

If you ask insufferable Boston crybabies the answer would be yes.

A trade for Cards WR Larry Fitzgerald will be in play this off-season, in likely event a deal not completed before Tuesday's trade deadline.

Ummmm...Howie...get it done

SD

Unless it's a 4th or later I wouldn't bother. He's on the downside of his career. Re-signing Maclin is always an option that won't cost them a pick.

MDS

they need 11 new defensive players...not a past his prime wr that wont be good in 3 years when the eagles can hypothetically possibly win a title
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Yeah I'd rather they just throw a couple million towards Mac and bring in another veteran FA in case Mac isn't effective.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
