Anyone seen a good movie lately?

I just watch Dredd and farging loved it. It was so stupid and fun and terrible in all of the right ways. Plus the ultra violence was so absurd and over the top. Such a great bad movie.

Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher was worse casting by a good bit. The original character is a hulking 6'7" badass.

everyone knows a 50 year old tom cruise as a hair metal druggie in a musical is a tragedy

see thats the thing....its not a about a specific roa character....its about an ancient tom cruise playing a druggie alky heavy metal dood in a musical....you dont have to have ever heard of rock of ages to be like WTF?

when 99% of america saw the jack reacher trailer they thought it was mission impossible 6...and then they said jack reacher?....what a stupid name for a movie

If they don't read books. And I'm not going to argue the finer points of Rock of Ages. I seriously could not care less.  As I recall though, didn't he get good reviews for his role overall? I only saw a few minutes. Just bored me.

I have read the entire Reacher series and am in the process of a re-read...and I was legit pissed when they cast that scientologist freak to play Reacher.

In the book series there are numerous mentions of his height and strength...two things Maverick doesn't have.

The movie turned out ok but I could not get past that flaw.

Nobody who knew the character liked the casting. He got the part because he produced the movie. He was the very antithesis of the character.
