2/26 for Utley is absolutely not overpaying.  I still feel like they should've burned the house down but his deal by itself can't be compared to Werth or Howard.

Not to get all sabermetricy but this was a pretty good breakdown of it & why Amaro's terrible moves have put them in a no-win situation with Utley and the team.

Yeah I ahve no problem with the Utley deal itself, I have a problem with it not meaning much because they're probably going to suck next year.

They do have a ton of money to spend if they want to prove they are like Boston or NY.....we'll see if that happens.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

the GRIT deal is good in that it will keep teenage girls from blackwood coming to the games but otherwise its completely worthless

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

2/26 is far from retarded.

Is there any move the Phillies make that you don't support?   Seriously, I'm asking.

MDS

kendrick went from being a horrible 6th starter (in the minds of south jersey fans) to being a surprisingly capable starter to needing an extension to being trade bait to pitching for his spot for next year in the span of one calendar year

pretty impressive

is he the 5th starter next year?

hamels-lee-doc-bone-?

im assuming since rube loves keeping his boys in line he will throw some moronic incentive laden deal at doc regardless of how he does in his 5-6 start tryout.

in reality the year or two he was the 6th starter....making spot starts...long relief...etc...he was really good. logically couldnt find a better talent for that role.
