QuoteThe last time the Eagles drafted a player in the first three rounds who had a 10-sack season? Would you believe Jerome Brown, the ninth player taken in the 1987 draft? That's 26 years ago.

LOL @ this stat.  I didn't want to believe it and thought that he had to have overlooked Corey Simon, but Simon missed double digit sacks by .5 during his rookie year and never really came close to getting 10 any time after that.  #pathetic

The ironic part was that Corey Simon got a sack on his 1st play from scrimmage.

Care to remember against whom?

Yup.  On sides kick recovery to start the season, Simon sacks Aikman on his 1st defensive play of the game, Duce runs for 201, pickle juice, Eagles blow out Big D 41-14.  Thus begins the winningest, yet most under achieving era in Eagles history.

I knew it was against Aikman, but I forgot it was the pickle juice game as well.

Nice job both of you, high fives!

That first play/sack against Aikman pretty much cemented him being my favorite player at the time. He got 7 sacks the next year then became completely useless

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Sgt PSN

How in the hell could your favorite player at the time be a guy, who at the time, had exactly 1 professional snap under his belt?

I was big into defense at the time, I was 13, and he was the new star early draft pick. Outside of Dawkins, Duce, and Hugh, there wasn't a lot to like about that team going into the season. Bobby T and Vincent maybe, but they weren't "exciting" to me.

Not surprisingly, you weren't a very smart kid either.

QB Eagles

QuoteBrandon Graham has played in 32 games in his career and has now had four defensive coordinators – Sean McDermott, Juan Castillo, Todd Bowles and Billy Davis. He also had three in four years at Michigan. That's seven coordinators in eight years. Tough to gather momentum in your career like that.

Coaching changes can be a disruption, but sometimes I think it's a bit overstated how much of a disruption they are. It also seems possible that Graham's career hasn't gathered much momentum because he isn't very good.

There could be some truth to this.

I wanted Peter Warrick or Plaxico in that 2000 draft.  Oops.  Oh and Urlakkerrzzz went 3 picks after Simon
