but that at bat wasnt a "stuff' issue....its a mentality issue....you don't have to have good stuff to throw one in the dirt and not constantly be all over the plate....he doesn't believe in wasting a pitch ever

one loss closer to rube trading michael young for a low A pitcher

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

99.999999999999999% sure Lee wasn't winning without the Phillies scoring a run for him.  Still, between him and Cole sucking the life out of their chances this weekend, it's time to S-E-L-L.

Close thread.

You mean, if he had more wins the Phillies would lead the division?  Interesting.

nice paplebon signing there roob....

QuoteBut even if they do decide to listen on Jonathan Papelbon, other teams increasingly view him as practically untradeable.

"He's just not that valuable with that contract," says one AL exec. "If the Phillies want premium players back, they'd have to take half the contract [which has two years, worth $26 million, remaining, plus a vesting $13 million option]. I don't see any team giving up an A-list prospect and taking that entire contract. You'd be taking the worst two or three years of a bad deal and giving them a premium prospect. That just doesn't make sense."

is there one phillies player who is better, at their position, than someone on the cardinals?

QuoteManuel was not happy with the approach of Phillies' hitters against Miller. The Phillies' hacking ways stood in stark contrast to the patient Cardinals, who racked up excellent at-bats with a lineup loaded with .300-plus hitters.

lol...if only he could do anything about how his team approaches hitting. if only he had the power.

power?....you mean like getting 250 rbi a year from choke and GRIT

the farging nats and braves keep losing giving smug a false sense of hope...the real hope might be in the mets getting within a game or even catching them this week
