It looked like a Phillies home game today.   Pitiful support as usual from the Stillers fans.    No wonder the Fish couldn't save Pittsburgh.

That team (1986) wasn't really terrible at all.  They just had the misfortune of finishing in second about 40 games behind the coked-up Mets.   Their starting pitching was pitiful, though, other than Mr. Sandpaper Kevin Gross.  Amazingly enough they had Smoke Stewart on the roster.

For no logical reason what so ever, that 86 Phils team is one of my favorite Phillies teams ever.

And this is still one of my favorite Phillies games ever, also from 86.  Trailing 7-4 in the top of the 9th, 2 out, bases loaded and Juan Samuel jacked one out of the park.  All 4 runs were unearned because Ozzie Smith of all people, made an error with 2 out that loaded the bases.  Then Bedrock came in for the 9th and shut it down 1-2-3.

I noticed that as well yesterday.  Place was full of Phils fans.  Pirates playing some of the best ball in the MLB, holiday, in state rival, shtein, c'mon people.
