he shouldnt have been in the game...kendrick is cruising in the 8th having gotten the first two outs on a weak grounder and a strikeout...and then at 92 pitches is inexplicably pulled for the odb...which then led to paps third appearance in three nights in the 9th

maybe kk chokes it in the 9th but maybe he continues to cruise......or maybe he gets two outs with a man or two on and paps comes in where he only has to get one batter....whatever the possibilities pulling kendrick was absolutely assinine

in the 8th it was retarded and useless. in the 9th it made sense. papelbon is your 50 million dollar closer, its a 1 run game you go to him. he can pitch 3 days in a row, its not abnormal. he just didnt get it done. oh well. no meathead douche fistpumps tonight.

bigger issue is the bats quitting midway through the first. and the fact that they have 3 people on their bench (galvis, quintero, mike mike) who cannot hit for shtein, and that 2 people in their lineup need to be taken out for defense, which limits late inning pinch hitting options. thats all a part of why theyre farging terrible and why games like this no longer bother me.

they are what they are and im well past the point of being over it.

not when your starter is cruising and your closer has pitched the previous two nights and not looked good...it was overmanaging 101...in fact ill go even as far as to say that if paplebon hadnt pitched the two nights before there was no need to change there...its simple minded thinking that you have to bring in your closer because he makes a lot of money that is one of the bumblefargs biggest problems

in my second scenario that would be valid....had paplebon not pitched the previous two nights then theres an argument

but to take out a pitcher on a relatively low pitch count who is in a groove because the closer makes more money than him is idiocy...you bring in the closer if you think he gives you a better chance....last night that clearly wasnt the case

the 3 nights in a row thing isnt an issue...he threw something like 25 pitches combined monday and tuesday. he was fine. he just pitched poorly. relief pitchers can easily go 3, 4 days in a row. they do it all the time.

and i dont know why there is even debate. this is one loss of 90something theyll have this year. big farging deal.
