Maikel Franco got promoted to AA which is big.

20 yr old, 3B who was hitting .299 at clearwater, with 16 hr and 52 rbi, .925 OPS....damn

5 errors in 64 games at 3b

its not an excuse...i dont even know what that means.

the nats were awesome last year and every piece of evidence suggested theyd be even better this year. why its not happening is something only the philliest of homers would have predicted, and done so merely out of false hope.

and unlike havas im actually quite happy theyre terrible.

I can't say I'm overly surprised that the Nats took a step back this year. They still have some good young talent and I think they'll be in the thick of it over the next several seasons.

Signing Haren was a mistake, though. He seems to be cooked.

I'm shocked they've been awful. I thought they were a 95-100 win team, but as I said a few months ago, things can go really wrong all at once and it's happened to them.
