U.S. got the win they needed at Jamaica.  Altidore scored for second game in a row, which is a good sign.  Winning goal came in stoppage time.  U.S now tied with Mexico and Costa Rica at seven points, with Panama holding the fourth spot at 6 points.  Top three automatically qualify for WC.  Fourth faces a playoff vs. New Zealand. 

Two more games...next up vs. Panama on Tuesday.

They played like absolute crap.  It's getting more and more common for this team to sleepwalk through games like this and that's on Klinsmann.   They were disjointed and showed absolutely no willingness to attack Jamaica until the shtein hit the fan in the 90th minute.  They got a win and a win in qualifying is paramount, but still...

Mexico sure isn't. They look like absolute shtein. They should be winning every game and the lackluster fargs keep shteinting away points. At this point, they would get creamed by the Women's Team-Liechtenstein.

By the way Costa Rica and U.S. have played one less game than Mexico.

solid victory. had numerous chances but couldnt finish until jozy did.

all but assured of a spot in rio now. long break before 2 games in september at costa rica and home against mexico. truly dont mean much since they are in but 4 pts there and you have to think maybe this team can do something next summer.

I think we'll make some noise.  ;) (farg Mexico)

The guys are playing well together, have confidence, are are building great momentum heading into the World Cup.

With a nice draw, this team is capable of getting past the first round and being a darkhorse.

Honduras is brutal to play against.  They don't give a shtein about possession and routinely pack 'em in to the point where the only offense they generate is on the counter.  They had 10 guys behind the ball most of the night and any time the U.S. tried to come up the middle with the ball they closed it down.  When Bradley started distributing out to the wings, they got much better.  The U.S. was actually dominant in the second half and should have scored at least 3 or 4.   It's all coming together for these guys now, but to be frank, the competition is barely world class in this hexagonal.   Mexico only having 1 win in six matches is just inexcusable.  I'm shocked De La Torre still has a job after this qualifying debacle.

I think if Mexico has any chance of doing anything, they need to axe the coach, a year ago.

Another crappy defensive outing by Mexico today. These guys are just slowest, unorganized, and as incohesive as I've EVER seen this unit play. I think they just gave up on the coach. These guys play with no heart.
