Can we start to get at least a little bit re-excited about him possibly developing into a real everyday player?

Or is that kind of optimism not allowed?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Something about Brown's homers was stuck in my mind, so I checked:  Five of this year's seven homers have been solo shots, as have each the last four.

HR 1 - Solo shot vs. Wade Davis (Royals) 4/5/13
HR 2 - 3-run shot vs. Jeremy Hefner (Mets) 4/10/13
HR 3 - 3-run shot vs. Robert Carlson (Mets) 4/27/13
HR 4 - Solo shot vs. Alex Sanabia (Marlins) 5/2/13
HR 5 - Solo shot vs. Ricky Nolasco (Marlins) 5/3/13
HR 6 - Solo shot vs. Madison Bumgarner (Giants) 5/6/13
HR 7 - Solo shot vs. Scott Kazmir (Indians) 5/14/13

One thing:  He does have more homers than Ryan Howard now.

EDIT:  Other (good) thing:  The Phils' record for the other games in which he hit homers this season is 5-1.

It's nice that he's developing. They sorely need it. I need to look it up but it seems he's doing well against lhp too.

Choke needs to take notes.

Coming into tonight's game:

Howard:  .250/.286/.449/6 HR/22 RBI
Brown:  .250/.301/.417/6 HR/18 RBI

And yes, Brown is hitting well (.281) vs. left-handers.  Unfortunately, he's only batting .240 vs. right-handers.  He's also got better power (.500 vs. .390) vs. lefties.  He's actually got a better OBP (.303 vs. .294) against right-handers.

At this stage, if the Phils had a viable right-handed bat, it may be time to platoon Howard.  His numbers vs. left-handers are atrocious.

farging hardcore analysis there. The fact a major league team employs him as a color analyst is disgusting. A complete buffoon.

How many times has he blown David Montgomery?

Geowhizzer

Mayberry 3, Indians 2.

Pettibone still pitching well.  Showing he isn't lost in The Show.

Yeah, but does (insert any player in the MLB here) just enjoy the game?  Cholly, Wheels farging night of the living dead already.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

BigEd76

They signed Zambrano.  Fun

btw today's game will feature the Wiggles if your kids are into that shtein
