Other than Francoeur, who the farg are the Royals?  Never heard of any of these guys.

A lotttt of young talent.

Sal Perez pretty much never swings and misses. Mike Moustakas has 30 home run power but still K's a lot/doesn't make enough contact yet. Hosmer is on his way to stardom as well. Alex Gordon used to be a top prospect but took a while to pan out.

They'd probably be playoff contenders if their pitching didn't blow so hard

Is most of this talent from their farm system?  If Wheels knows what he's talking about regarding this subject he's said they're high on a lot of these young players.

Yup, all home grown stuff. Perez was signed from some south american country or island, but Hosmer and Moustakas were high draft picks. Same with their DH Billy Butler that they left out of the line-up today. He's a poor man's Miguel Cabrera, pretty much a guarantee to hit .300, and has 25-30 HR power. I don't remember if Alex Gordon was a pick of theirs or if he came from another farm system, but I know he's already 28 and didn't really "break out" until the last 2 years.

I was working at the Royals single A affiliate here in Wilmington when Moustakas and Hosmer were down there, they were beasts.
