Agreed. I'll downplay the major achievement part. U.S. soccer is no longer the stepchild it used to be. I think they've established themselves for a while now that they are starting to become like England. These guys need to take that next step. They've been stuck in the mud for a while. They have enough veteran leadership where they should be able to make some noise. Problem is they're young talent. I'm not too familiar with them and have not heard of many.

Mexico on the other hand is about to get their boat sunk. This was supposed to the the team that finally advances past the quarter finals and they can't even beat Jamaica at home. God damned Mexicans! :boom

Mexico should dominate this game and if they don't they are in big trouble. The US has had no consistency in its lineup and especially on the back line. A defense that has rarely played with each other in the loudest stadium in the world is bad news. If this is a tie a loss or an unimpressive win by Mexico their coach is probably gone.

Yep. I expect nothing but error-laden, missed-opportunity, substandard football from Mexico. In other words, I don't expect them to play any different than what they are used to.

Agreed, Mexico shteins the bed, coach is gone.

Chicharito by himself is better than every other player the U.S. fields combined.  And I like Dempsey & Altidore & Bradley, but come on...

this game tonight was case and point why soccer is an atrocity

its also...super good for the us. 1 pt in mexico is massive.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Nice play by the gringos. Their defense was tough, all game and team Mexico couldn't pass worth shtein. I'm starting to get scared.

The two no-calls on penalties in the box didn't hurt. For the US to escape with a point is ridiculous. They got dominated by a vastly superior team on the road. Lucky lucky lucky.

Stunning result.  I watched the replay this afternoon and I can't remember seeing even a 2 minute stretch where the US looked like it belonged on the pitch with those guys.

Jesus...  I'll take the point gladly, though.

PS... So long Tim Howard.

I forget the deal with Donovan. Not interested or just trying out new players?

The defensive scheme for the U.S. was executed pretty well. Yes, Mexico had their chances, but 90% of those opportunities were in traffic and never really threatened.

Mexico has a lot of things to fix. Frankly, they've taken a step backwards. I wouldn't be surprised if Chepo De La Torre is fired.

The only positive is that Mexico is only 2pts behind the leader, but that's also the bad news. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Donovan is dealing with burnout (or whatever).  That's the unofficial word, anyway.  What he's really dealing with is an overwhelming decline in skill level and desire to train that comes when you roar into your 30's.   I've always liked Donovan but he's a massive Hoyda who had the talent to play at the highest level in Europe yet always chose to muck it up with the rest of the minor leaguers in the MLS.

Chelsea shat the bed against Manchester City today.

Why did the shtein head Oscar play the whole game while Lampard, Torres, and Terry sat. (Torres went in after the 60th minute).

Chuggie & Dio... did you guys watch the Chelsea/Liverpool match?

Holy shtein - take a bite outta crime, Luis!

Suarez bit Ivanovic from Chelsea on the arm.  The referees missed it (how - who knows - it was a blatant as can be) and then Suarez came back and scored the equalizer in the 96th minute.

Seriously, this is the second time he's bitten someone on the field.  Combine those two instances of retardation with the Evra racial taunts, and well, good luck with your new striker next year.
