Serious question, I have not been following. Is Geno Smith any good?

Doesn't appear to be a sure-fire franchise QB. Has the talent and measurables, but so did hundreds of other duds. He should go in the second round, but because the QB position is so thin in this draft, he'll probably go top ten.

He's accurate but doesn't have great arm strength, doesn't run unless he absolutely has to, and he came up really small in big games, and I think having Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey made him look better than he actually is.  He's only being considered in the top 10 because it's a weak QB class.  I've seen him get compared to Akili Smith, but he's more like Sam Bradford ... a guy that'll get you the ball but he doesn't do anything spectacular like an RG3 or Russell Wilson or Brees or Rodgers

with the morgantown visit in the bag the geno rumors are swirling causing heated debate today on wip on whether the team should take him at 4 or not

i personally believe the eagles are trying to fake interest in him in order to move back....that may be giving howie to much credit but its how i see it

If by excitement you mean dread and nausea I agree with you.

Get a monster offensive line anchor for the next decade, please.

Jaws and Sal Pal both said they're OK with Smith as the pick, but the Eagles better be damn sure about it

i agree with you in the sense that im not in favor of taking geno but at the same time if they grade him out that highly and believe he can be their qb of the future i wouldnt not have a problem with it....if nothing else taking a young qb would be incredibly exciting and great to follow over the next couple of years....and more than anything it gives you a sense of hope

really i cant think of anyone they could take at four that would cause me grief....this draft is so vanilla

If Smith is their guy, do they take him at 4 or should they try and move a few spots back to the 8-12 range?  Or even further back?  I don't think I saw a single snap from him all year, so all I have to go on is scouting reports on the web and commentary from other fans who actually watched him play and the general consensus is that he'd be a 2nd round pick in a stronger QB draft.

So the best they could do is trade back to #6, which wouldn't get them very much return would it?
