I hate to point out the obvious but if you think Geno Smith is a late first rounder you aren't on the fence about him. You think pretty highly of him. That is all.

If a guy is a projected top 10 pick and I'm suggesting he will fall to late first and possibly early 2nd than I'm not that high on him. Now if I said "what would you think if the Eagles traded back to 10 and Smith was still there...would you take him?"...now that would be a different story.

Dillen

Since when is everybody saying he's a top 10 pick? The answer to your question is a resounding no.

rjs246

Yeah the only time I see him in the top ten is when jerkoffs are projecting a team to pick any old qb because their current qb sucks. He isn't a top ten player he just plays a valuable position.

Probably a moot point because he's not going to be there and I think Kelly wants to go with Foles

what makes you think that?

every single sign has pointed to vick being the starter next year....not only do i not think they are going with foles i would be pretty surprised if hes on the roster when training camp starts

as for geno smith if you think hes a your franchise qb then you take him at four....otherwise you dont take him at all...i dont really get hoping hes there with your second or giving up a pick to get him with your second pick...if your draft room identifies him as a franchise qb then dont mess around...take him at four...if hes not a franchise qb in your eyes why take him at all...build the team and wait till you find the right qb...lord knows they need help all over the place especially with the switch to a 3-4 base d

personally i dont believe they think that highly of geno or they wouldnt have kept vick for as much money as they did...i think its pretty obvious vick is the bridge to next year which is when they hope they can find their future qb

I'm on the fence with Smith...I think he's a legit late first talent who will probably go higher because its a weak qb draft.

rjs246

Fine. My point, again, is that if you think he's a 'legit' first rounder you obviously think highly of him because you're saying that you think some team will draft him to be their starting quarterback in the first round of the NFL draft. I don't think he's a first rounder but I only saw him play a little bit so all I really know is that until the season was over no one was talking about him as a first round QB. Then the pundits who I can't believe get paid for this shtein realized that they needed to be able to project SOMEONE to be a first round QB because so many teams have zesty QBs and there are no real first round talents in this year's draft. So every time Geno Smith is projected to go to the Bills or the Chiefs or whatever, there are all sorts of caveats around it. If you think he's a legit first round talent I'd say you're in the minority since even the dudes who are projecting him to go in the first round don't think he's a first round talent.

yeah a projection is very very different from a grade

Of the four QB's who played in the conference championship games,  two were taken in the 1st, one in the 2nd & one in the 6th.

It's a crapshoot.

Move on.

I said hes a legit "late" first round talent...big difference and most draftniks are saying the same.

I don't see any way the Eagles don't select Jordan at #4 if someone doesn't take him take him 1-3.

I am giddy with the depth at OL and DB in this draft.  There's no way they can farg this up.  Watched the DB's yesterday at the combine.  Loving Trufant out of Washington more and more.  He could fall right into the birds lap in round 2.  I haven't checked any boards recently but I am assuming his stock is rising.

QuoteJordan (6-6, 248) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.60 seconds, which ranked tied for third among defensive linemen. He ranked tied for fourth in the broad jump at 10-feet, 2-inches. His vertical jump was 32 1/2 inches.

In the position specific drills, Jordan displayed great explosiveness and quickness, plus excellent change of direction and an ability to quickly drop into zone coverage and make a play on the football.
