I know I'm somewhat biased & that guards last longer than tackles, but barring something unforeseen I don't see how Warmack lasts to 16.

Basically, anyone the eagles need or should get, should be gone by the time they draft. Same as it ever was.

In case anyone's thinking about trading down if Joeckel and Star are off the boards, here's the pick values
If I remember right, some team moved up two spots a couple years ago within the top 10 (from #8 to #6, 6 to 4, or some shtein) for only a couple 4th rounders. The value chart is worthless, especially in a draft like this.

BigEd76

The only one I see that sorta resembled this was in 2002 when the Chiefs traded up for Ryan Sims

DAL #6 (1600)

KC 1st #8  (1400)
KC 3rd #75 (215)
KC 2003 6th #186 (17)

yeah i think the draft value chart has been pretty helpful in the past, but if talent evaluators really view the top of this class as poorly as they seem you might not get as much value as in past years.

I didn't follow it closely last year but for the most part trades at least somewhat follow the chart a majority of time, and often closely.

Just as it was starting to fall out of vogue the new CBA made the absurd rookie contracts, especially in the top few picks, obsolete. Luck last year got 4 years/$22 million. Sam Bradford got 6 yrs/$78 mil with $50 guaranteed. This makes it a lot easier to trade in the top 5 now using the value chart. There's always been exceptions but I expect for the most part we'll still see trades mirror the chart because of the new salary scale.

QuoteIn the last five NFL drafts, nine interior offensive linemen were selected in the first round. Danny Watkins, the Philadelphia Eagles' 2011 selection, was the shortest of the nine, measuring in at 6-3 3/8

Probably figured they needed to draft short o-lineman to compensate for their short starting QB.

That doesn't matter. Warmack is only 6-2. The Eagles just drafted a kid who's flat out terrible. Again.
