Finally saw Silver Linings Playbook. Other than expecting an empty theater and having every seat filled by gross perfume=laden geriatrics, I really liked it.

I mean I could watch Jennifer Lawrence simply jump up and down for two hours and enjoy it, but I think I would have liked it even if her big softies weren't involved. That said, they didn't hurt my enjoyment of the film.

I was expecting some sort of twist based on his delusional tenancies at the end, but I was pretty glad they played it straight. Solid film that reminded me of that awesome December blowout of the Cowboys, which also helped.

Perks of being a Wallflower - fantastic

me too...it was OK...wasnt expecting a full on love story but cooper and especially j law pulled it off. de niro actually tried and was really good.

however
- de niro said "we need to get into the division." what the hell is that
- they paid a lot of money to clear songs but they couldnt pay for audio form the tv broadcast of the actual eagles games?
- somehow de niro knew that the eagles were giving 1.5 to the cowboys 6 weeks before the game. the week before the bengals tie the man magically knew the week 17 line.
- when they went to the eagles game, during the quick establishing shot, they showed someone wearing asomugha jersey
- the mom was wearing a kevin kolb jersey
- the ignorant north east philly and/or kenzo white trash guy starting a fight with the indians was insanely accurate

7.5/10
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Spiderman was ok. Different story. Nothing to write home about.

I watched End of Watch last night and thought it was pretty good. The ending was pretty powerful and a bit unexpected.

Ran across this earlier - good read

am i doing something wrong is it really only two pages?

when mags do oral histories they are usually very extensive....vanity fair's articles are also usually super long...but when i try to print this its only 2 pages

the real deal...

exit thru the gift shop - really dont get all the hype over this one....the first third of it was very good...the parts where hes following around the artists...the art itself...but after that it got a boring as could be plus the theirry character was clearly fake...i think the idea behind the documentary was pretty brilliant it just didnt interest me after the fist maybe half hour

5.5/10

company men - movie about the great recession and its effects on working america as well as big corporations...pretty cliche and mostly predictable but still very watchable and entertaining...outstanding cast with very good performances from just about everyone is what makes the movie...even affleck was respectable...

7/10

i recently dropped hbo because a special i had for it ended...shortly thereafter fios gave me showtime for free thru may 31....ill tell you what ive dvr'ed more movies ive wanted to see off showtime in the last two weeks than i did off hbo in the last six months...to the point where my dvr was getting close to full...hbo is all about tv shows....showtime crushes them for movies imo

When I moved back to PA last year, DirecTV gave me 3 months of every movie channel for free.  And yeah, HBO is pretty terrible these days for actual movies.  In fairness though, I wasn't really impressed with any of them, it's just that HBO seemed to be the worst of the bunch.  I really can't remember any channels playing movies that I was "dying" to see, but plenty of movies that I at least had some mild interest in.

ice grillin you

yeah none of the movies ive dvr'ed would be considered must sees...anything i wanted to see that badly i would have already caught in the theater anyway...but showtime has a shteinload of stuff i have wanted to see

I don't know anything about Goon.

Didn't like Big Lebowski (turned it off)

Loved The Kings Speech

ice grillin you

i figured lebowski was awful cause its a movie that doods love to form a douche circle for and then recite lines to each other

i just saw anchorman a couple weeks ago for the first time...i had purposely avoided for the same reason but i had to see it for myself....it was about as unfunny as it comes...lebowski cant be worse than that

probablly will go with the kings speech
