The Eagles picked Jermane Mayberry over Lewis.

They also picked Dawk later so in essence they passed up a HOF'r to get another.

Would have been nice if they had gotten both, though.

safties have a hard enough time making it as it is and hes only the third best of his generation

i think he sniffs it if it werent for ed reed and polamalu....but because of those guys he wont even get close

He's a nine time Pro Bowler who is also universally loved and respected by everyone in the game.

You can bet your ass he'll get in.

The Pro Bowl means precisely dick. If all of the Hall of Fame voters were from Delaware he'd get in, but there's basically no chance he gets into the Hall unless there is a major shift in thinking about the Safety position and a flood of them get in.

He had 1,131 tackes, 120 passes defensed, 37 interceptions, 37 forced fumbles, and 26 sacks in his career.

No one has ever had a combination of numbers like that. Not a single safety. He's the prototype for the position.
