So again...can someone explain how they differ?

Shurmur ran a variant of the WCO in St. Louis which employed short passing and running the ball more often than a classic WCO.  Kelly ran a no huddle track meet at Oregon.  Seriously, they couldn't be more different.

They go together like lamb and tuna fish.

Diomedes

here's a bunch of info on Kelly's offense at Oregon

doest really matter anyway...all offensive play calling is going to kelly...  trying to employ both to set up various packages, blocking schemes, etc is not a bad idea

i actually like the blend...might be able to bring kelly back down to reality when his science experiment goes array

I'm sort of enjoying the idea of this team being truly awful.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Maybe you like spaghetti and meatball? You more comfortable with that analogy?

Crap. Just an improvement in game day sideline savvy would be refreshing. Reid getting habitually punked during cruchtime on national tv was so farged.
Endless regression to the mean

It would be nice if the Eagles could run a hurry up offense for more than two plays in a row before going back to the huddle so they can figure out which play they want to run next (and then calling a time out when the play clock catches them out before the snap).

that would require an intelligent qb first that knows how to run a hurry up. cant even remember when...

Cements Foles as the initial starter IMO.

My initial reaction as well

Shurmur may not be a good HC but he's a good QB guy. The offense is going to revolve around the spread that Chip Kelly implements. Chip is smart enough to know that the QBs he had run his system in college won't translate to the NFL. So he brings in a guy who can groom a young QB who also has experience running a pro style offense. Chip is going to run his offense but he's going to use Shurmur's knowledge to make it mesh at the NFL level while simultaneously having Shurmur develop Foles. It's a good hire and a smart hire.

I drink and watch football a lot but also have a Masters degree, so I'm going to diagnose you as thoroughly awesome.
