I'm thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-10 sacks

ha

You disagree? Pittsburgh's O-line is atrocious.

they clearly arent going to get that many but i wasnt really disagreeing per se...i was just laughing at the notion of predicting 6-10 in a game as easily as if you were predicting shady was going to rush for 100 yards or something...

in 1100 all times games the eagles have had 10 sacks or more in exactly two of them...and when was the last time they even had 6?....steelers have been sacked six times total this year and the eagles have seven....90 - 91 - 92 eagle defenses had a combined total of four 6+ sack games

i think you are way underestimating how hard it is to get six sacks in a game....and while i think the eagles have an advantage when it comes to their DL vs the steelers OL i think atrocious is also a little strong in describing the steelers line

i think where the eagles have a huge advantage this game is against the steeler def....if vick was the least bit reliable there would be no question the eagles would pretty easily put up 30+ pts this game

This might be the game he breaks out and starts to get his confidence back and starts to settle and calm down.

Rome

If he wasn't running for his life after three steps on every dropback he might be able to get a wee bit more comfy.

The line can't protect him at all, so if they're smart they'll send one guy out and keep everyone else in to block.  And that still might not be enough.

PS: My prediction will come later in the week.  You all care.

The Steelers o line must not be that atrocious considering Big Ben is having one hell of an efficient season so far. 2nd best passer rating and 4th best comp percentage at 40 attempts per game does not scream my oline sucks.

I mean look at Heath Miller all of a sudden again. A little sign that he doesn't have to stay in and block like he used to. If the Eagles knew how to effectively blitz diff story.

Still think this will be close but don't think Pitt loses at home here

One thing that I thought the coaching staff did well was in the second half against the Giants, TE's and Backs were helping chip the ends and that helped a little...at least it didn't seem like the feast for all the Giants were having in the first half.

I don't know what feast for all means, but you get the point.

Does Vick even take three step drops, or five or seven for that matter? Seems like he backpedals 10 yards, doesn't see anybody open because he's short and too stupid to read a defense, and then either takes a sack or rolls out at which point he'll either get sacked or throw a pick.

im not trying to make this a vick vs the line thing...vicks struggles have been duly noted...but he also has three long game winning drives...real game winning drives...not bedwetter specials with 11 minutes left in the game....and no other qb in the nfl can say that...

all im saying is that the line has been better and in many cases much better than a lot of people think

i thought the line was very good from the 2nd quarter on sunday, they struggled early and Vick had no time, but he also didn't force anything and just stayed patient, which is a huge change for him.

between Vick seeing blitzes better and making better decisions and the line adjusting and playing better it opened up the plays that he made later in the game.

Probably for the discussion thread at this point, but I didn't say 10 or more. Their tackles are weaksauce, Cole/Babin should have monster days.
