Saw The Master this afternoon with the wifey.  It might have well have been a Master's Class in acting because all three of the protagonists were incredible.   Amy Adams especially.    Joaquin Phoenix was beyond creepy and intense and PSH should absolutely win the Oscar for his performance.   The movie was a bit difficult to follow but Paul Thomas Anderson's movies usually are.  Also - someone REALLY doesn't like Scientology.  Just saying...

9.5/10

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Lots of people like it.  Paul Thomas Anderson?  Not so much.

also saw the master today...generally agree with romeys take altho i find it amazing you could leave that movie and single out amy adams...she was fine but certainly not noteworthy...incredibly well crafted movie as you would expect from anderson...one of the most gorgeously shot movies ive ever seen and the best since the thin red line...in the reviews i read they all said psh was incredible....he was indeed great but joaquin dominated him...i would be shocked if he doesnt win an oscar...he was ridiculous...overall the movie was very good not great...as with most of his movies it was unecesarrily long and has little replay value but anyone who appreciates mvies should definitely see it and see it in the theater...its a technical masterpiece

She gave an amazingly nuanced performance.   Not sure why you didn't see that, but whatever.

You had half a stinger on when she jacked off PSH in the bathroom.

Don't deny it.

saw moonrise kingdom last night. pretty good. great acting by everyone, including the two main kids, but for some reason i was expecting more laughs. more of a cute story than anything. bill murray was underused but awesome as always.

Does anyone?

My neighbor down the road is one.  Real cool guy, always asks me how the birds and bums are doing, great surfer and waterman but every time I talk to him I'm afraid I'm going to have a tourettes syndrome moment and yell out "Spaceships? Aliens? Really?"
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

i really liked looper, though i think the end of it set up a contradiction.

Going to see Looper this afternoon.

So nice not to have to watch football in the afternoon for a change.   For real, I'm so sick of Reid and his happy horseshtein it's like I just want the season to be over and him gone forever.
