The unidentified girl has been at the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility for nearly two weeks. A judge ordered the girl to be locked up on a material witness warrant in order to ensure she will appear in court for her alleged rapist's trial.

It's pretty much hit or miss on whether or not a rape victim will speak up to begin with but I'm pretty sure the threat of jail will not encourage victims to step forward.  I've never heard of a victim/plaintiff being tossed in the slammer for being a flight risk.  LOL @ California.  I can't wait to leave this farging state.

The state itself isn't....it's like the east coast and is conservative/religious oriented in the south and gets more liberal and progressive as you go up north.  Where I'm living right now is really no different than when I was living in North Carolina in terms of religious conservatives being all around me.  But yeah, Sac-town is in NoCal which does make this a bit surprising.

I visit lots of sites on both sides, it doesn't mean I agree with the nut jobs that post on each and every site on the right or left. I didn't see this report on any other website, thats why I posted it from that site.

To be fair, I attempt to avoid the comments sections for any online article.....especially politics/law-type articles.  I get more than my required daily dose of internet stupidity from you schmucks and facebook.  So reading comments on any online article is only going to set you up to get pissed off.  I liked the world a lot more 15 years ago when I didn't have access to everyone else's thoughts.
