You're right, I didn't notice he had a no movement clause. Now they're completely farged. Hopefully once the new CBA is set up there will be an amnesty clause for one player similar to the NBA. That's pretty much their only hope at this point.

Maybe Obama can send Seal Team 6 after his ass.  Someone spread the word that he's a terrorist.  He is to Flyers fans, anyway.

Looks like the Flyers acquired Pavel Kubina for draft picks.  The conditional second from the Versteeg trade and a fourth or a fifth, depending on the reports...

Geowhizzer

Apparently Eskin and Pinnachio are reporting that the Flyers are in the mix on a Rick Nash deal.  Reportedly CBJ wants JVR, Bob and one of Schenn or Courterier.

Wonder if Holmgren could sneak Bryzgalov in that trade and bring back Mason - couldn't be any worse, could it?

Staal fined $2500 for the boarding on Coburn today.

Quote from Bryzgalov:  "I'm just trying to find peace in my soul to play in this city."

Don Ho

Maybe he should try out for the Soul.  What a tool.
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

Rome

He's playing like shtein because of geography.

Awesome.

QuoteTRADE UPDATE: The Flyers have acquired (D) Pavel Kubina from Tampa Bay in exchange for (C) Jonathan Kalinski, a 2nd round pick (previously acquired from Florida) and a 2013 4th round pick ... The 2nd round pick has Florida's option to be in 2012 or 2013.

Not only do I say no on that deal I say hell no. I'd part with JVR if they were willing to take Bryz but no way am I trading JVR, Bob, and either Schenn or Courerier for Nash alone. That trade would make no sense.

Rome

Who in their right mind would want Jizz now?  They would have to offer Giroux for anyone to take him.  We're doomed to watch this fargface for the next decade.  farg our lives.

Nash is under contract until 2018. I think Homer was trying to convince Columbus Bryz just needs a change of scenery. Unfortunately they were in attendance last night and had to witness yet another melt down. If they make a move for Nash they have to shed salary, JVR/Bob/ and a guy like Carle may get it done but what's the point of adding Nash and possibly Mason [who sucks as bad as Bryz] when the problem is goaltending. That's why I think the deal hinges on Bryz and not Bob. I think they're trying to move Bryz and his awful deal by sweetening the pot, then they're going to make a move for Nabakov. I can't see how ridding themselves of Bob/JVR/ and another player and adding another scorer really helps at this point.

Rome

Acquiring big lumbering defensemen on the other hand... brilliant.

If this is 1982.  It's not, right?

SD

They don't need more fleet footed defenseman when they already have Carle/Timmonen and to a lesser degree Coburn. They're missing size and toughness on D so these moves sort of make sense. They miss the shtein out of Pronger, he was physical, a beast in front of the net, a great passer, and most importantly the leader of the team.

Both players they traded for are on one year deals so if they don't work out who gives a shtein. They obviously are going for more D because scoring hasn't been a problem for them this season (hence why trading for Nash doesn't make much sense). The problem is you could have the greatest D in the world but if Bryz/Bob are going to let soft goals in they're going to go nowhere. Soft goals just take the wind out of teams sails.

The bottom line is they need to rid themselves of Bryz's deal and acquire a goalie, Nabakov is fine as a one year fill in.

coburn skates better than timmonen and carle combined....coburns best attribute is his skating ability....timmonen on the other hand skates like hes in mud these days

and id trade their five best players if it meant getting rid of breezy....like romey said they are done for the better part of the next decade if they cant get rid of him
