Flyers traded Kevin Marshall to the Caps for career minor league winger Matt Ford. Don't really like this deal, they dealt a decent young defenseman for an average minor league winger

is their goalie that weird rooskie from the tv show or is it bob
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

SD

The Rangers own the Flyers

Bryz looked decent through two then shtein the bed as usual.

SunMo

he is farging brutal.  props to SD for calling that early.

still not ready to give up on schenn though
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

SD

I'll hold off on Schenn for now, like you said he's still young. If the right D man was available in a trade I wouldn't mind moving him. He loses cool points for getting K'Od by Kovalchuk.

SunMo

who would you trade first in a dman trade?  schenn or jvr

Touch choice, I still think JVR has potential to play bigger than he does. But now there's a concussion history and his contract to take into consideration. I think Schenn (concussion history too) is more valuable because he's not signed long term.

If I had a gun to my head I'd probably move Schenn then pray JVR comes back healthy. I just think JVR has the higher upside.

last night in the phantoms game...one second left phantoms down by one and dennis hamel roofs one from center ice....would have been a miracle shot to send the game into cept the phamtoms still had a couple players in the offesnive zone so it was ruled offsides

NEW YORK — Perhaps a bit burnt out by all the interview attention he received during the All-Star break, or simply tuckered out trying to cover all the mistakes being made around him Sunday, usually affable veteran Kimmo Timonen was in a bit of a dark place after the New York Rangers' 5-2 victory over the Flyers.

Timonen's answers were short, somewhat snippy ... and as usual, right to the point.

"I thought we played a decent game," Timonen said after a crushing goal allowed by Ilya Bryzgalov to end the second period and two bad defensive giveaways in the third led to the Flyers' fourth loss in four tries this season against the Rangers.

"It didn't go our way," Timonen added. Then, when asked what he thought the difference was in the game, Timonen quietly but just as quickly responded, "the goalie."
