The Caps are playing a D first system finally, but who knows how long that will last.  They always played balls out, and it cost them every playoffs.  Getting players like Brouwer help, but I still wonder about Vokoun, he historically choked in the playoffs, with a pretty damn strong defensive team in front of him.  They'll be interesting to watch down the stretch. 

In another note, I though Schenn looked good in his first game.  He played a strong physical game, and i liked his play along the boards and in traffic.

The line juggling Laviolette did was pretty horrendous. Hartnell should have been moved off the team not up to the first line. JVR needed to stay on the top line, Schenn isn't a winger, and Courtierre isn't a 4th line center.

And I'd also like to add Bryz isn't that good. Maybe he gets better as the season goes on but from what I've seen he's been pretty mediocre.

totally agree...his contract was absolutely ridiculous...hes a decent goalie nothing less nothing more....its sickening that the caps got vokoun for a mil and a half and the flyers signed that guy for nine years

Pronger just took a stick to the side of the face, was bleeding, and there was no call. I think he was crying when he left the ice...either that or he lost an eye.
