He thought he would have a chance to get serious playing time at DE this year. Instead, he was being lined up as a 3rd string DT. Then, he got hurt again. So, he took his crutches and went home.

Pretty much says it all. Not a huge disappointment, but then again, awful defensive end draft picks are this team's specialty.

How is that, exactly? Because he somehow managed to stay associated with the team for this long?

He was a 2nd round pick who might have made 3-4 plays worth a damn in his NFL career. That is the very definition of huge disappointment.
