Wow. Prayers to his family. :( This is a potentially fatal condition, brought to the spotlight in the show "Six Feet Under". Its the condition Nate died from.

Wow, shtein. It kind of puts all the petty stuff in perspective. You really can't help but think of JB99.

JB99 drove too fast with a child in the car on a rainy road and drove into a tree. HIS doing. This is not even close to it...nor did it make me think of JB.

Needless to say, Mike's career is over.  :(

Yeah, so what? The feeling of immortality is young man's disease. Just the possible fatality of it leads me to think of a life ended to young. I don't mean to write Patterson's obit here, but I know two people who have died from that condition.

PhillyPhreak54

Wow. That sucks.

So its a definite career ender?

PG, no doubting you, but everything I've read says it can be treated with either surgery or radiation. I haven't seen anything anywhere that says his career is done.

Treated as in, stop death temporarily.

I can't imagine ANY doctor on this earth would allow him to play football again.

He's damn lucky he survived with "just" a seizure and wasn't left with partial or full paralysis from it.

Yeah, the treatment involves saving his life, not continuing his career.

PhillyGirl

all that said, there ARE different degrees of the condition. But I don't believe the lowest degree causes seizures like he experienced yesterday.

Figured something was up when the Eagles signed 2 DTs lastnight.

I don't think they knew last night. The testing was done this morning. Those guys were brought in because Laws went down and they were super thin for camp with Jenkins still not playing.
