They'd drop both of those clowns in a second. They wanted to get rid of Ron-Ron last offseason and at the deadline

Yes, but I don't think there's any way they move both of them in the same deal without getting Howard or a stud PG.  They may look to trade both individually, but I don't think there's a chance in hell they'd move both of them for Iggy.  Odom has a lot of value to the Lakers because he can play pretty much every position on the floor and was their most valuable bench player.  After him, it's Shannon Brown who is hit or miss when he gets on the floor.

Screamin A has a radio show out here now and he was on yesterday saying that the Lakers should give up Gasol and Bynam to get Howard.  It's not totally illogical, but if I'm the Lakers, I'd rather move Bynam and Artest.

Do I need to clarify?  Ok.

I do not think that the Los Angeles Lakers would trade Lamar Odom and Ron Artest together in the same deal unless it got them Howard or a top point guard in return.

ok just making sure...in that case you have no farging clue what you are talking about...no one is trading a howard or paul for a sack of shtein like that....and the lakers would trade artest and odom for me and you if they thought they could get away with it...in fact they would probably release both of them tomorrow if the nba didnt have guarnteed contracts

dude, Artest is filler. He was one of the best players in the league only a couple years ago, yeah. Now he's irrelevant. Especially if they get Iguodala in return.

Drunkmasterflex

For where they are picking I would like to see them get Faried, Montejunas, Thompson, or Hamilton.

Between you and me, which one of us listens to sports radio in LA?  Which one of us is surrounded by Laker news 24/7?  This isn't shtein I'm just making up.  This is what I'm reading from the local beat writers and hearing from local talk show hosts...one of them was just hired to do Lakers radio pbp starting next year.  So I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they know more about it than I do.

I'm not saying that the Lakers don't want to move either or both of them.  But for them to move them both in the same deal in which they only get one player in return, it sounds like they aren't going to take anything but a true stud player in return and that they pretty much laughed at the thought of giving up both of them for Iggy.

As far as Artest goes, the hot talk about him right now is that since they hired Mike Brown, they may be looking to keep Artest since Brown is a defensive minded coach.  I'm sure they'd still move him for the right price, but it seems like they changed their tune a little bit and haven't made moving him a high priority and aren't actively shopping him like they were in the reg season.

LA isn't getting Howard without giving up Bynum, 2 players and 2 draft picks.  Orlando isn't that stupid...

Sgt PSN

Howard very well may end up NJ instead of LA anyway.  Nets can give up Lopez, who is better offensively than Bynam and is more durable.  Not to mention that the Nets are like a gazillion dollars under the cap so they can throw the bank at Howard if they want to.

i heard this about biyombo last night:

"he's got zero offensive potential. zero. but he has long arms and immense potential so he'll be a top 15 pick"

and that right there, is all you need to know about the 2011 draft.

ice grillin you

pretty much...which is why you take a chance on a guy like him...ive watched a lot of video on him lately and he seems like he could develop into a shot blocking monster who would eat your face off rather than let you get to the rim...african ben wallace

That's one advantage to having such a shallow draft class.  You can pick just about anyone and it wouldn't be a head scratcher or a huge gamble.  So why not go for someone who has good size, length and athletic ability even if he's raw or non-existant on the offensive side of the ball?

The more I look at this draft class, the more thankful I am that the Sixers hired Collins and that he was able to get them into the playoffs this year.  How awful would it be if the Sixers had a top 5 pick in a draft that doesn't really have any top 5 talent?  Look at Cleveland.  Those schmucks can't win for anything.  They lose LeBron, but wind up with the #1 and #4 pick in the worst draft class ever.  Sucks to be them.

Hawk

I want Biyombo or Montejunas (sp).  Boom or Bust.  I also want Iggy traded.

I read that the Minnesota deal has a 50/50 chance of happening.  However, Rambis was the big proponent of Iggy and now he's fired.

If we got #2 do you go with Williams or Kanter?
