And no one in Boston cares about them

this is the truth..remember we talked about how many more sox hats we were seeing at XXXIX than we were pats hats. granted the sox had just won their first title in 86 years, but it's super bowl weekend for shteins sake.

Yep.  But according to some teevee ratings are a better barometer than your own effing eyeballs.

Another miserable soul-crushing loss for Philly.

Threw what was in my hand at the end and hit my television.  Fortunately it was the rag I was using to clean up my shelf from Christmas stuff.  If it was the remote, it would have been bye-bye TV.

Ha!  I've got nothing left to throw after the bums collapse.

The Zen-like feeling I had after the Phillies won in '08 is completely gone now.   I figured that win would make up for 30 years of losing otherwise and for awhile it did.  Not anymore.  With each new disappointment comes the feeling I had before the Phillies won that I'll never see another championship in my lifetime.  I actually wish I didn't care so much but I do.

its step up week....

sixers have beaten one team this year that has more than (5) wins....that was indiana (9-3) at home who was missing their best player...combined records of the teams they have beaten this year = 28-79....this week they face denver (9-5).....atlanta (10-4) albeit without al horford...and miami (10-4)

flyers have to prove they are in the same league as boston...huge home game against them sunday...but they also have to go to red hot new jersey on sat

LETS DO THIS!

With the exception of 1989, one of the 4 major Philly sports teams has played for but ultimately lost a championship in every Presidential Inaugural year since 1977.  So, yeah, 2013 won't be worth watching unless you enjoy watching gut wrenching championship losses.

'77: Sixers lost to Blazers
'81: Eagles lost to Raiders
'85: Flyers lost to Oilers
'89: none
'93: Phillies lost to Blue Jays
'97: Flyers lost to Red Wings
'01: Sixers lost to Lakers
'05: Eagles lost to Patriots
'09: Phillies lost to Yankees
'13: ??? lost to ???

QB Eagles

Of the 17 Philly championships, eight are for long-gone teams and another three are pre-merger NFL championships.

There are a bunch of individual franchises that have more championship wins that matter than our whole city.
