yeah iguodalas two misses at the end when they werent gonna win anyway was worse than lous 1-8 from the field and general all around ineptitude at both ends of the floor

also worse than jerus two misses at the end of the game

much much worse than thad bricking up free throw after free throw thruout the fourth quarter when it actually counted

and def waaaaay worse than evan turner going absolutely brain dead after iguodalas back to back steals

the bottom line is the sixers lost to a better team and to blame anyone on their side is a waste of time

jason kidd hitting clutch threes and dallas' all around execution in the half court during the second half of the fourth quarter won the game

Great article on Thad's rise under Collins. As is well known I hate Iguodala, one of the primary reasons is because I think Thad can step in and use his minutes at the 3. Thad's probably my favorite Sixer since he's been drafted. I think he's too talented to spend his career as a backup:

in his opening press conference and thruout the summer collins went out of his way to emphasize three things

defend home court - they are nine games over .500
three point defense - an amazing 4th in the nba
get thad young back - done

the guy is an absolute genius

Anyone have opinions on Speights getting more minutes?  I know his lack of D is always cited, but he apparently has one of the best defensive efficiency ratings for his position in the NBA right now.  Probably more of a coincidence than anything, but I wouldn't mind him getting some increased run.

i dont know what defensive efficiency rating is but it cant mean much because hes disgraceful on d...just one example was him completely overextending spazzing out and letting terry go right by him the other night on that step out...it was so laughably bad

hes also soft

and if this makes sense he trys but he doesnt hustle

i like him coming off the bench if they are struggling on offense...hes at his best doing that and knocking down a few jumpers to get the team going...his stroke is sweet for a big guy

to me hes a classic match up guy...it depends on your opponent who he has to guard and how the game is being played as far as how many minutes he gets

not to mention you cant rely on any rating for a guy that plays 10 minutes.

Eagles_Legendz

Well, that's what I'm saying in that I'm sure it's a relatively small sample size.  If I understand it correct, it pretty much takes into account the other teams points per minute or points per possession while you're on the court.

ice grillin you

in addition to the sample size you also have to take into account that collins puts him in the game when the situation favors him or wont hurt the team...hes not putting him on kevin garnett or dwight howard...hes most likely facing a very favorable matchup when hes in the game

I dont think the coaches are sitting there figuring out his efficiency rating. There are too many other factors to consider when placing him on the court--which takes efficiency rating out of play. Hes not out there for extended periods of time against solid opponents for a reason.

Like igy said, he'll hit the occasional shot which is nice, ok inside against inferior teams that lack size, blocks some shots and grabs some boards here and there, but a guy that size shouldn't be forcing charging calls as his main objective on d. Thats weak on all levels.

Eagles_Legendz

true enough, i just wish he could get shtein down more on the defensive end because he really is like insta offense most games.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
