perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Another 3rd period two goal lead pissed into the wind.  This team is headed for a classic top-seed fall if they don't get it together.

agreed

look at the last few games....carolina hideous bob goal lose 3-2...ranger game an injured boucher holds the fort win 4-2...pheonix hideous bob goal blown lead loss....islanders two goal lead blown two bad goals by bob

its mostly on him....he literally cannot play a game without at least one soft goal...but in the playoffs they will have boucher

the bigger problem right now is finishing...they have to find ways to get the puck in the net...i know everything tightens up in the playoffs and you arent gonna score four goals a game every night but its getting ridiculous...briere needs to be on a milk carton

they need a breakout game where they score 5-6 goals and get a nice blowout win...i was hoping with isles and ottawa back to back they would do it then...didnt happen last night...perhaps tomorrow

It might be the 3/4 syndrome (3/4's of the way thru a ridiculously long season and playing out the string waiting to get to the playoffs).

I don't care what their excuses are.  Just win, get the top seed, then take a rest for a week or two.

That's what I keep thinking.  Hitting the wall time - long ass season, playoffs are near, just finishing it out.  Seems like they always get up by 2 and we're left shteinting our pants the last 8 minutes of every game.

Apparently, Nikolay Zherdev wasn't the only Flyer who needed a wake-up call this week.

Barely 12 hours after coach Peter Laviolette said his team is missing the sense of "desperation" that defined them last season, general manager Paul Holmgren said the entire Flyers roster needs a wakeup.

"The last few weeks, I wouldn't say we've been lucky, but we need to play with more oomph than what we've played with lately," Holmgren said. "Last night, the Islanders are a good, young team now. They work. And skate.

"I thought they won the majority of races to loose pucks. I thought they won the majority of battles for 50-50 pucks. That's gotta change if we want to get where we want to be. I think our guys recognize that. We need a little bit of an attitude adjustment right now more than anything."

The Flyers have either blown a lead or a tie in the third period in three of their last four games over the past two weeks.

Has complacency set in?

"When you are heading into the home stretch with 21 games left, hopefully, we're in the playoff mix, you gotta play desperate. You gotta win battles, you gotta win races. Those are the things we need to fine tune as a team."

Truth is, the Flyers have won games in the second half they deserved to lose. Some games, they seem to win on autopilot.

"Maybe, maybe," Holmgren said. "Last year, at this time, we were in a fight for our lives. Now we [have], I won't say a comfortable lead, but our position is different.

"Absolutely, I would agree with that," Holmgren said. "The coaches talk about it all the time. The players have been through it before. They'll come around. I think they realize we have to play better."

They haven't really gone through a slump all year. it's tough to keep that level of play for an entire season, especially since they are not really a dominant team. They're deep with talent but not dominant with talent. I'd rather see them slump a little now than flame out down the stretch.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.
