I'm not sold on him being a SB caliber QB if he's going to keep playing like that.  

theres no such thing as a superbowl caliber qb anymore....in todays watered down nfl almost any qb can win a title....having one of the few great qb's gives you an advantage of course...but having an average qb doesnt preclude you from winning it all...and vick is most certainly above average...in other words you are nuts if you arent sold on him being good enough to win a sb

Report: Eagles Must Franchise Michael Vick

Philly.com is reporting that the Eagles can't negotiate with Michael Vick on a new contract. They've got to franchise him then try to work out a deal afterward.  Here's what they had to say:

"I've written this a few times now, but nobody in the media seems to have noticed. RE Michael Vick and a new contract: My understanding is the Eagles HAVE to franchise him, though they then could work out a new longer-term deal, once they have done so.

Why? Because Vick's incentives met in 2010 pushed his salary more than 30 percent beyond what he got in 2009, ELIMINATING THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENDING THE DEAL. I have this from an excellent source.

So no, the Eagles are not negotiating with Vick on a new contract. THEY ARE GOING TO FRANCHISE HIM. Then they might be able to work on a longer deal."

There was something mentioned about that on PFT yesterday and if I read it correctly they will be able to Franchise him before the current CBA expires.

unless andy doubts his future as a starting qb in this league...which is possible after all he sees him in practice every day...it would be really dumb to trade cobb for anything less than a top 20 overall pick...theres just no reason to do it

I wouldn't. Teams are desperate for QBs, the Eagles have an extra one that is in demand, the Eagles need the pieces to rebuild their whole defense, and there's a distinct possibility that Kolb isn't even really all that good.

Of course he could go somewhere else and have a HOF career like a Steve Young or Brett Favre, but at some point you gotta run the odds that it won't happen.

Doesn't mean I endorse the idea but I wouldn't be surprised.
