My iPhone is great for everything but making phone calls.

Although I hope that some of the AT&T people will jump to Verizon and free up the load on the AT&T network.

how farging nuts does those dropped calls make you? I cant even count how many dropped calls I get and have to call the person back not once, but sometimes 3 times in a row.

data is fine, but jesus the most important aspect is missing.

PhillyPhreak54

Yeah...

*call failed****call failed***

farg!

Both carriers have their own issues. Verizon fails in places where AT&T works, and vice versa. But the grass is always greener...

I've had the iPhone for a month or so now and I absolutely love it.  Never had a problem with it yet.

I have had both AT&T and Verizon (personal and work) at the same time and can tell you that Verizon KILLS AT&T with coverage and dropped calls. no comparison. AT&T was the outright WORST.

I think a lot of it depends on where you live.  AT&T is the dominant force here in Hell and I never have issues with dropped calls in this area.  Basically you're good anywhere east of I-95 which works because I rarely travel west of it.

No one can be as bad as Sprint/Nextel. No one.

AT&T has been solid for the most part but the dropped calls have become annoying. Although I suspect that's more iPhone problem than AT&T problem.

Do you have an iPhone 4, Jay?

Which did you have?  The Nextel network is a complete abortion, but Sprint's isn't bad.  Roaming is on Verizon anyway, and it's much much cheaper than ATT or VZW.  I would have switched by now but get such a ridiculous deal.  I've priced out the closest plans on other carriers and it's not even close.

I've had the iPhone 3GS since it came out in 2009 and I've had 2 dropped calls.

I used to really hate AT&T coverage, but it's gotten much better in the areas that I hang out.

Nope, I have the 3GS. I should be upgraded to the 4 soon. It's through work so I'm at their mercy on when I get the upgrade.

FF - I had Nextel and Sprint. Sprint was marginally better. Nextel was awful.

QB - perhaps it's the area? Houston has alot of 3G network usage from what I understand. It's like when I go to Vegas the network really bogs down because so many people in the area on the iPhone network

yep-thats exactly what it is. its all coverage area with that phone.

Dropped calls are NOT exclusive to iPhone users.

My AT&T phone(s) would not just drop off, the entire farging phone shut off because of the dropped call.

That's not what they mean, the features of the iphone drag down the entire network.
