tried to watch the road yesterday which was incredibly boring and a waste of two hours of my life...but because of that i fell asleep for a good chunk of the movie

two questions for people who were brave enough to sit thru it

1. do they ever show how his wife died...im guessing she committed suicide?

2. do they ever explain how the earth got like it was?

neither of those questions have any bearing whatsoever on the story

there was no story

if there was ever a movie that didnt need to be made it was the road

I read the book.  Movies are for dumb fat lazy people.

Sort of and no.  They don't actually show a 'death scene' but they show her wandering out of the house when it's clear she's going to die.

I still liked it.  The book was better but I thought the movie was well done.  Did you wake up towards the end to see the Omar Little appearance?

Easy A was good.  Lots of tasty 20 year old girls as eye candy around an entertaining story.  Want to get in a 4-way with Emma Stone, Amanda Bynes, and the hottie with the blond curly hair who plays Olive's friend.  Christ.

Rome can have Clarkson and Kudrow.  Right up his alley.

No, and not really.  Very similar to the movie in that regard.  She got depressed, saw no point in living, didn't want to raise a child during the apocalypse, and just wandered off into the night knowing she was going to die.

I liked The Road, I read the book so I have more of a biased opinion to it. The movie/book isn't about what happened to the world or the wife, because whats going on is that present moment and the bond between the main characters and the struggle to survive. I take it as, nothing matters in life anymore except survival, everything else is irrelevant.

Oh my god it doesn't matter. The book never explains it because it is beside the point. Jesus christ.

this is the movie thread i think there is a book thread somewhere else...

and it matters in the movie cause there is literally nothing else that does matter...at least tell us what happened if you are going to watch that dood and his whiny kid walk around for two hours and do nothing
