I have to think Lou Williams is still nursing that sprained shoulder. Since he came back (after just sitting one game), he has been pretty tentative taking it to the rack and his release looks different to me.

alright so im running through this box score, a few things stand out (besides how awful they are)

1. andres nocioni fouled out in 30 minutes. 30 minutes! thats it! how is that possible when you dont even try to play defense?
2. spencer hawes took one less shot (7) than evan turner (8) and he played 12 minutes to turner's 43. what. the. farg. is. that.
3. tony battie got a 17 minute run off the bench. why? what could this possibly accomplish. hes older than rome and taking time away from someone who at one point was good in mo speights. i dont understand this franchises fixation on washed up veterans that bring nothing to the table besides dominating rookies at cards on the team plane.
4. lou williams: 12 minutes, 0-7 from the field, 0 points. does doug collins hate him?
5. elton brand with a 27 and 8...even against the raptors this is good. 1 more year of this and he becomes tradeable.
6. iguodala has fully gone into tank mode until he gets traded. got to hand it to him, he could have done this 2 years ago and didnt. i guess his play in the worlds changed his mind. good for him.
7. a combined 55 points from sonny weems and andrea bargnani. whats the point in even trying to make a joke about that?

can someone tell me what exactly im supposed to look forward to with this team? theyre playing hard? theyre young? jeru? what is there?

1. youve never seen nocioni play if you dont think he plays defense...and hes like the nba's version of dale hunter
2. turner is timid as hell...if he had half the confidence of john wall hed be a much better player....hopefully experience will cure this
3. battie is their only physical inside presence...hes all they got and when hes not in the game their interior defense is laughably bad
4. while nowhere near eddie jordan collins roation decisions are at best questionable...that said 0-7 is generally gonna get lou on the bench...if he isnt scoring then he shouldnt be playing
5. say what you want about elton brand but with more cake than a lil fat kid and playing in front of 5k every night for the worst team in the league could easily have him giving up or taking nights off....he never does
6. see above and reverse it
7. sixers give up i think 105 a game....me and you would get ours against them

so theyre just horrendous and most likely never going to get any better?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I fully believe they'll return to ~.500 mediocrity in some season in the not too distant future. Take the best we've seen since 2003 and that's probably their ceiling for the next 5 years unless they luck into drafting someone who is flat-out dominant.

With the exception of about 3-4 years of peak AI/brown performance, that's been the story for 20 years and they've given us no reason to expect different.

The BIGSTUD

The Sixers blew a 15 or so point lead(multiple times) and missed 2 FTs with 8 seconds left and then fouled Wall on a 35 footed allowing him to make 3 FTs to tie it up.

Yes, it's that bad.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

DH

14 secs left, game on the line and iggy couldn't look more disinterested in the huddle

DH

...and then he misses the potential game tying shot. shocking.

The BIGSTUD

He doesn't want to play here anymore, and it shows. He's a loser and has always been one. He thinks he's way better than he is. He'll be traded by the deadline.

Hopefully Brand keeps putting up 20/10 so he can be traded too.

lol iguadala doesnt wanna play anymore yet he was the best sixer by miles and just missed a trible double

i didnt think it was possible to top the last loss in DC but last nigth easily suprassed it...that final sequence was beyond painful
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

DH

what is painful is and will be every single game the sixers will ever play against the wizards and wall. farging ping-pong balls.

yep...haunting for the next 15 years

how bout the contrast last night right in front of our eyes within three seconds of each other

et chokes away two game winning free throws
wall makes three must haves with ease

I'm guessing this obsessiveness over 1 and 2 is just to compare the stark difference between the two players right?

Because the Sixers were lucky as shtein to even get the #2 pick (not turner but the #2 pick).  Now your haunted for the next 15 years they didn't get the 1st pick in the draft.  Makes zero sense.

Yeah-and the game made me sick last night.

ice grillin you

yeah it makes zero sense to be upset about just missing out on john wall...wtf?

and the bullets moved from 5th to 1st...its not like the sixers jumped up and lost out to the team that was supposed to win it...or even the 2nd 3rd or 4th team

but hey if you didnt care what happened when there were two envelopes left and were just happy the sixers got that high up then congrats

On a smaller scale it reminded me of Kane/JVR.

Athleticism and skill aside, that Wall could hit 3 free throws with the game on the line but Turner couldn't hit one to seal the game speaks volumes of the players we're dealing with.

its especially funny because that would be the one scenario where you might actually give the advantage to et

you know wall is the phreak athlete with skills off the charts and whose gonna put up huge numbers but might brick a free throw when you need it...and et is the rock solid older than his years composed clutch guy whos gonna solidly knock down the big free throws

NOPE
