The characters that they are developing suck, and the way they are developing them sucks.

The token wife abuser that tells the women to STFU and get back to cleaning... real original. The angry jealous friend of the guy who's wife he banged in a pissy mood. Let me guess, he will do something later in the show to try to separate them and have his wife for himself?

At least make it interesting. Right now, there is no suspense and zero thrills.

The point (read: deeper meaning) in pretty much any and all zombie-related movie/show/lit is in a world overrun by savage blood thirsty creatures, humans tend to become the savages themselves and revert to primal instinct and brute-ishness instead of reason and logic. Hence, wife beater guy. And my money is on that 2nd thing NOT happening. Dude knows he was wrong for what he did, and as much as he hates it, he is Rick's best friend.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

There is no deeper meaning. The dude was an ignorant wife-abusing hick. Probably was before the zombies and probably always will be. You really think he was some model husband before all this started? They are throwing out cliche after cliche. No originality in any of the characters.

Some of them don't even have a personality. Those girls had some of the worst acting you will ever see. Especially the one with the sister that wanted the necklace. I don't even know the chick's name in the show.

The show is setting up for him to betray Rick. He's already losing it and he beat the shtein out of the abusive guy. Also, he lied and told Rick's wife that Rick was dead so he could farg her. He's trying to become a father figure to his kid also. Great friend.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

I'm sure he was, but I'm sure he also wasn't so public about it or directed it at women other than his wife in public when society was still society. Like i said, the point of all current zombie-related stuff is the breakdown of society and how we lose what actually makes us "human" and blah blah blah

And no, the show is setting up for them to have a big cry fest about the whole thing. Chances are the friend gets his guts ripped out by a walker before all is said and done.

This is why I'm really not a fan of the genre. The only zombie movies I've ever liked were 28 days/weeks later. They didn't get overly sappy or cheesy. They stuck to a winning formula, which was suspense and the fear of zombies around every corner. Also, great cinematography and great atmosphere that made everything feel barren and abandoned. They developed characters, but didn't go out of their way to create mundane scenarios like I feel this is doing. It came naturally and in a believable way(believable in the current fictional scenario).

Every other serious zombie movie/show I've ever seen besides those I thought were pretty much garbage. I'm not giving up on the show now, but if it continues like this it isn't my thing. If I want a sappy drama I'll go watch something on CBS.

Boardwalk Empire... Another solid episode. I love how they're carefully setting everything up. There's only three episodes left in the season so it should start to really roll.

My one beef with the show - and it's not even the show - is the opening credits. The music isn't from the time period and I'm a stickler for authenticity so I wish that was better.

alright, great

its established itself as a show thats not going to be just mindless zombie gore. either accept it and enjoy it or go away and jerk off to night of the living dead or something.

your choice either way i dont care
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

He's my hero

I thought it was a decent episode, not as good as the first two.

Buscemi has been really good.

Boardwalk Empire was great last night.  Setting up for a tremendous ending.

Colin Cowherd-The Sitcom

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blo...rd-lands-45197

A popular sports radio talk show host has sold his life story to CBS for a sitcom deal.

A project based on ESPN talk show host Colin Cowherd was picked up by the network.

His radio show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, is a syndicated program is known for Cowherd's obnoxious commentary that sometimes results in headline-making arguments with players and fans.

Cowherd drew blogger outrage a few years ago after using a Web site's comedy bit without credit, then writing back to the author, "WE WERE SENT IT....WE HAD NO IDEA..BUT THE INCESSANT WHINING...MEANS I WON'T GIVE YOU CREDIT NOW..GET OVER IT." Earlier this year, Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco bashed the host on Twitter after the player was singled out by Cowherd when noting "70% of the NFL and NBA players are broke within five years of retirement." Ochocinco wrote that Cowherd should "just say I don't like this black guy," then added "your girl is cheating on you."

The Cowherd script sold as a multi-camera comedy to CBS, with writers Bill Martin and Mike Schiff attached (Hank, Grounded For Life), as well as executive producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men).

Cowherd himself has a producer credit on the untitled project, which is at CBS TV Studios.

Dexter and Boardwalk probably had the best episodes of the season for each last night.
