MDS

4 episodes in, yea

but he wasnt a main character

i cant think of successful show that killed of its main character, no. shows have seen main characters leave for whatever reason but generally suck after that. pretty amazing that a story wouldnt work without a protagonist...wow. amazing discussion going on here, as usual.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PoopyfaceMcGee

I love the way that he's unceremoniously capped as soon as the elevator opens.

Did Tony get killed in the first episode or the first season? No.  Sorry that's retarded and I don't need to read the books to guess that the cop does not die in season one.

The plot revolves around Rick Grimes (The Cop), he's the main character. There are other main characters, for instance a show like Lost kills off Charlie/Locke/Sayid/Shannon/Michael etc. They aren't the main character like Jack, but they're 'Main' characters...or in other words regulars who play a vital part in the show. I won't say who does or doesn't die in the graphic novel, but everyone is fair game.

The BIGSTUD

Sunny was farging hilarious.

Lethal Weapon 5 was pretty epic.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

I know... someone had posted that they were hoping for Rick to get killed... just pointing out the unlikeliness of that occurence... anyone end of disccusion.. back to talking about MDS's writing skillz.

The Jack Sheppard character (to be played by Michael Keaton) in Lost was originally supposed to be killed instead of the pilot.  The network wouldn't let me them.  Don't know if that means anything.

MDS

not exactly

it was a really early idea thrown around by the producers but they quickly decided against it. im pretty sure a million shows have had the kind of idea but came to the same immediate resolution...that it would never work.

Oh, my understanding was the network wasn't into it.  You're face has man sex on it.

The BIGSTUD

The Walking Dead went from TV's version of 28 Days Later to a sappy drama with the occasional zombie. If you are into that same old same old, then go for it, but not my thing. Hopefully something picks up. I don't care about their little love affair.

Munson

It's called character development, and a TV show that plans on going season after season needs more of it than a 2 hour movie.

No doubt in the world that the zombie action picks up as the series goes on. But fully expect more episodes in each season that concentrate more on the people/their sruvival/character development than zombie slaying.

Loved tonight's episode. Much better than last weeks.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

The BIGSTUD

The characters that they are developing suck, and the way they are developing them sucks.

The token wife abuser that tells the women to STFU and get back to cleaning... real original. The angry jealous friend of the guy who's wife he banged in a pissy mood. Let me guess, he will do something later in the show to try to separate them and have his wife for himself?

At least make it interesting. Right now, there is no suspense and zero thrills.
